Dragon armour was brought into Runescape at the same time as the Lost City Quest, and the Dragon Longsword and Dragon Dagger where the first items to be released. Most dragon items are only equipable after completing a certain quest. Many items are also dropped by monsters, usually of a relatively large combat level. All Dragon weapons have a special attack.
